AANA Chair
Director, eBusiness, Strategy & Marketing Nestlé Oceania
Martin Brown is the Director for eBusiness, Strategy & Marketing for Nestlé in Oceania. Nestlé is the world’s leading food & beverage business with iconic brands such as Nescafé, Milo, Kit Kat, Allen’s Maggi, Uncle Toby’s, Purina, Nan and Nespresso.
Martin joined Nestlé working in commercial roles in Confectionery. He relocated in 2003 to Switzerland to a headquarters role as Global Brand Director on KIT KAT and regional manager for UK, US, Canada, Oceania and Japan. Martin returned in 2006 as General Manager of Beverages looking after Nescafé and Milo. In 2012, Martin was appointed General Manager of Confectionery & Snacks.
Martin’s passion is for building brands, forming winning teams and leading change. Martin joined the AANA board in 2018.

ANDREW HICKS

Chief Marketing Officer Woolworths Food Group & Supermarkets
Andrew Hicks is the Director of Marketing, Woolworths Food Group & Supermarkets.

Prior to this, Andrew was General Manager, Marketing of the Woolworths Liquor Group (WLG) since his appointment in 2012. In his time in the WLG, Andrew led the transformation of the BWS brand and extended Dan Murphy's lead as Australia's most iconic liquor retail brand. Andrew joined Woolworths in 2008 as the National Marketing Manager of Dan Murphy's. During his tenure, Dan Murphy's was recognised as the BRW Outstanding Retailer of the Year (2012).

Andrew joined the AANA board in 2018.

JENNI DILL

VP, Chief Marketing Officer McDonald's Australia
Jenni is a commercially driven marketing leader with over 25 years’ experience in marketing, innovation and sales in New York, London and Australia in a range of global, regional and local roles for consumer goods powerhouses McDonald’s and PepsiCo. She is passionate about making a difference with great marketing, delivering business growth, developing incredible talent and working in exciting, fast paced dynamic businesses.

Jenni is the Chief Marketing Officer for McDonald’s Australia, leading marketing, insights, menu, merchandising, pricing and digital across the 1000 restaurant business and is privileged to lead one of Australia’s most loved and recognised brands. She is responsible for working closely with licensee partners and the agency village to deliver work that balances the short and the long term and drives real business results.

Jenni is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing) from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane.

Jenni joined the AANA board in 2016.
Jeremy Nicholas

JEREMY NICHOLAS

Marketing Executive & Chief Brand Officer Telstra
Jeremy Nicholas is the Chief Brand Officer and Marketing Executive at Telstra. Jeremy is leading the transformation of marketing as part of the company’s T22 strategy by driving a human-centred innovation and creative agenda. In business for over 20 years, Jeremy has spent the majority of his career as a strategist and leader of globally influential creative agencies in UK and Australia.

As a corporate leader Jeremy has held global roles at payment technology giant, Visa based in San Francisco, California and board positions in Australia.

Jeremy is currently a board member of the AANA (since 2016), Australia’s peak client body. Jeremy has a passion for football, the ocean and the creative arts and lives in Sydney with his wife and two children.

LISA RONSON

Chief Marketing Officer Coles
Lisa is an award-winning marketing executive with over 20 years of experience across multiple Australian and international brands. She has a track record of building strong consumer brands, leading high-performing teams and growing retail sales and market share.

Lisa joined Coles Group in May 2019. As Chief Marketing Officer, Lisa is responsible for leading the organisations marketing brand and media strategies, sponsorships and events, customer insights and analytics, and in store promotion.

Prior to joining Coles, Lisa worked across several brands and sectors including Carlton & United Breweries, Visa International, Telstra, David Jones, Westpac Group and Tourism Australia.

Lisa was recently recognised as the number one Chief Marketing Officer in Australia, winning both the 2018 Marketer of the Year award from the Australian Marketing Institute and also being named as the No. 1 CMO in the 2018 CMO50 Awards from CMO Magazine Australia. Lisa and her team also won Marketing team of the Year, Campaign of the Year, best PR and social campaigns of the year and ten Cannes Lions in 2018.

Lisa is an active member of the Australian Marketing Industry, including writing regularly for the AFR, is an AANA (Australian Association of National Advertisers) Board Member since 2018 and an Australian Advertising Standards Board Member. Lisa also takes part in several mentoring programs.

Lisa holds a Graduate Diploma in Management with Honors in Marketing from the Macquarie School of Management (MGSM) and bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Western Sydney. Lisa is also studying an MBA at MGSM.

SAM SMITH

Adobe Enterprise - Advertising Adobe
Sam Smith joined Adobe as part of the TubeMogul acquisition having run the adtech business for 3 years as Managing Director. Prior to this, Smith worked for News Corp Australia’s NewsLifeMedia unit, as Head of Commercial Integration. Smith was also the Senior Vice President of Adconion Media Group Australia and held leadership roles at Ninemsn and Yahoo!7.

Sam joined the AANA board in 2018.

WAYNE GABRIEL

Chief Marketing Officer Toyota
Wayne Gabriel is a marketing executive with 30 years of experience in the automotive sector specifically focusing on innovative marketing communications and brand growth that delivers tangible business outcomes. Currently CMO at Toyota, Australia’s bestselling car brand.

His career started at Daihatsu Motor Co. before starting his journey with Toyota Motor Company Australia within the National Sales and Marketing team. He is now responsible for maintaining and growing Toyota Australia's leading brand position in Australia as the business transitions into its next exciting phase.

Wayne’s passion is about leadership, as well as marketing. He strives to enable those around him to achieve their full potential with the shared goal of taking one of Australia’s most trusted brands from strength to strength through their mission - Inspiring human progress through mobility.

Wayne joined the AANA board in 2018.
Grant Blackley

GRANT BLACKLEY

Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director Southern Cross Austereo (SCA)
Grant is a highly experienced and well regarded media industry executive. His media industry career spans the past 30 years during which time he served in senior leadership roles at TEN Network Holdings Limited (TEN Network), finally as CEO from 2005 through to 2010. During his time with the TEN Network, Grant held key roles in media sales, digital media and multi-channel program development as well as being responsible for group strategy, acquisitions and executive development programs.

Grant was appointed CEO and Managing Director of Southern Cross Austereo in May 2015. SCA is one of Australia’s largest entertainment company with the ability to reach more than 95% of the Australian population through its radio, television and digital assets. Led by the Triple M and Hit Networks, SCA owns 78 radio stations (plus an additional 8 unique digital radio stations) across metropolitan and regional Australia. SCA broadcasts 92 free to air TV signals in regional Australia predominantly under the Nine Network brand. SCA’s premium audio and visual brands are supported by leading social media, live events, video, online and mobile assets that deliver national and local entertainment and news content. Using its vast expertise in creating audio content, SCA has developed a new Australian podcasting network which offers listeners compelling original audio content on demand, available exclusively through the PodcastOne website and mobile app.

Grant is also the Chairman of Commercial Radio Australia and joined the AANA board in 2019.

Martine Jager

MARTINE JAGER

Chief Digital & Marketing Officer Westpac Group
Martine is the Chief Digital & Marketing Officer at Westpac Group. She is a leader in digital transformation and has been recognised as one of Australia’s top Marketers, having worked on some of the country’s largest brands. As Chief Digital and Marketing Officer for Westpac Group, Martine’s responsibilities span the Westpac, St.George, BankSA, Bank of Melbourne, RAMS and BT Financial Group brands, where she focuses on their interactions with over 12 million customers.

Martine is known for her genuine passion for people and customers and this combined with her strong leadership skills means she develops highly engaged teams who deliver outstanding results. Martine is also a Governor of St.George Foundation, which helps support charities that look after disadvantaged children in Australia and is on the board of The Financial Alliance for Women.

Kym Pfitzner

KYM PFITZNER

Founder Triarii Consulting
Kym is the founder of Triarii Consulting that provides strategic and leadership services. He has extensive corporate governance experience and currently holds various non-executive directorships including chairperson of Six O’Clock Advisory and a director of SK Advertising Ltd (Signkick) and Invisible Artists Pte Ltd. Kym is also a member of various advisory boards including the non-executive chair of the advisory board for MCP Pty Ltd, a Victorian based financial brokering business. He also is an advisor to the Institute for Strategic Leadership.

Kym has over twenty-five years’ experience in advertising starting as the Regional CFO, and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for DMB&B (acquired by Publicis), to Aegis Media, now Dentsu Aegis Network for fourteen years in various roles, including CEO Posterscope Asia Pacific, Regional CFO and COO, CEO China, COO Australia and New Zealand, and Regional CEO of Mergers and Acquisitions.

Kym lives in Melbourne with his wife Amanda and their two children.

He joined the AANA board in 2019.
Sue oddie

SUE ODDIE

Founder Blue Sky Strategy
Sue is an independent non-executive director and consultant helping Boards, CEOs and leadership teams transform their business to adapt and flourish in a digital environment, build leadership capability, and create innovative and agile cultures. Sue has over 20 years experience as a senior executive with P&L accountability in the finance, media & professional services industries. Sue works with startups and fintechs to help them translate ambition into results.

Sue’s tertiary qualifications include:
• Executive MBA, AGSM;
• LLM, Sydney University;
• Commerce (Accounting, Finance & Systems) / LLB, University of NSW

Sue is an Agile Scrum Master, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Sue founded Blue Sky Strategy, a consulting business, in 2016. Prior to this, for over a decade, Sue was a senior executive with the ANZ Group in Australia, Asia and the Pacific leading and transforming businesses.

Sue started her career as a corporate and M&A lawyer with Ashurst (formerly Blake Dawson Waldron), before joining Channel Ten as General Manager, Business Affairs, during the industry’s transition with digital technology.

Sue’s passion is leveraging diversity of background and thought to help businesses accelerate their agenda, and build bold courageous teams to take businesses to the next level.

Sue joined the AANA board in 2019.

Aisling Finch

AISLING FINCH

Director of Marketing ANZ Google
Aisling is Google’s Director of Marketing, across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, Aisling looks after the Google and YouTube brands, connecting Aussie and Kiwi consumers and businesses with the range of Google's products.

Aisling has over 20 years marketing experience across telco, tech and media sectors. Aisling joined Google nine years ago in Europe, helping to grow the Android ecosystem in its early years and driving consumer engagement with core Google apps like Search and Maps.

Aisling returned home from London to lead Google's media buying division across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring Google marketing delivered best-in-class media strategy and execution. Prior to Google, Aisling spent 10 years at Telstra, where she held various leadership roles in strategy, finance, marketing, and retail and online channels.

Aisling joined the AANA board in 2019.
Tegan Flanagan

TEGAN FLANAGAN

Corporate External Relations Director Lion
Tegan is an experienced public relations and corporate communication professional and is currently the Corporate External Relations Director at beverage and food company, Lion.

In this role, Tegan has developed a strong background in regulatory affairs, issues management, corporate reputation and sustainability.

She has been a Member of the Uplifting Australia Board for the past two years and prior to Lion, she held senior positions at consumer public relations consultancies.
