Managing Director, Global Markets Lion
Matt Tapper is the Managing Director Global Markets, Lion Beer, Cider and Wine business in Australia. Lion is the leading Brewer in Australia with great brands such as XXXX, Hahn, James Boag’s, Little Creatures, Corona, Tooheys, Heineken & James Squire.

Matt commenced his career in New Zealand with Mars before a stint in the UK with Dairy Crest. He returned to New Zealand, joined LION and has had a number of Sales & Marketing roles. Matt relocated to Sydney with LION 12 years ago.

He recently completed a Global Executive MBA, studying in Sydney, Bangalore, Silicon Valley & London. He is the current vice Chairman of the AANA.

Matt lives in Sydney with his wife Jane and 3 kids.

Mark brings over 25 years experience to the AANA Board, having held senior marketing, distribution and product roles in Australia and North America. Mark was part of Suncorp’s Executive team, working across Banking and Insurance markets to build some of Australia’s leading brands including AAMI, APIA, Suncorp, GIO, Vero, Asteron and Bingle. Prior to joining Suncorp Mark held senior roles in telecommunications, technology licensing, packaging and building products industries. Mark has deep expertise in brand and customer management, communications and strategy in both Business to Consumer and Business to Business markets.


Area VP Australia, New Zealand & Japan Mondelēz International
Amanda Banfield is Mondelēz International's Area Vice President of the Japan, Australia and New Zealand markets, stewarding iconic brands including Cadbury, Oreo, The Natural Confectionery Company, Vegemite and Philadelphia Cream Cheese.

The locally the business employs over three thousand people across six manufacturing sites and eight sales offices, with teams spanning marketing, sales, insights, research and development, manufacturing, supply chain and corporate functions.

Amanda is leading a transformation of these operations, driving productivity and efficiency programs to enable the local business become globally cost competitive and generate sustainable profitable growth, while ensuring its products and brands continue to delight consumers and retail customers.

Amanda's deep snacking experience in Asia Pacific and Europe has included local and regional leadership roles in marketing, strategy and general management. In her twenty seven year career she has led major organisational changes including significant integration and business transformation, as well as having conceived and led a variety of brand renovation and innovation projects, some of which have grown to become global platforms.

Amanda chairs Mondelēz International's regional Diversity and Inclusion Council and is a director on the boards of the Australian Association of National Advertisers and the Australia Food and Grocery Council.

British by birth, Amanda has recently become an Australian citizen and she and her family now call Melbourne home.


Director, Global Marketing and Customer Experience Inchcape PLC London (Subaru)
Andrew Caie is the Director, Global Marketing and Customer Experience at Inchcape PLC London (Subaru).

Andrew has over 23 years of experience leading marketing, sales and communication teams across Australia for global brands including DDB, McDonalds, Toyota, AMP, Inchcape, Subaru and Lexus, with industry exposure spanning communications, retail, property, automotive, food and beverage.

His tenure at Toyota encompassed a wide variety of senior roles, including Head of Marketing and After Sales with Lexus Australia from January 2009 to June 2010; Head of Marketing at Lexus from January 2008 to July 2009 and National Sales Manager at Lexus from 2007 to 2008.

Andrew was Advertising and Marketing Operations Manager at Toyota Motor Corporation from July 2001 to December 2006.

His broad Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) experience included the role of Retail Marketing Manager at McDonalds from 1997 to 2001.

He was also Marketing Consultant and Account Manager on McDonalds at DDB Needham from 1995 to 1997.

Other roles include Marketing Manager, AMP Retail Property, from 1990 to September 1994.


Chief Executive Officer WPP AUNZ
Mr Connaghan was appointed as a Director of STW in July 2008.

After graduating from Charles Sturt University in 1987, Mr Connaghan commenced his advertising career winning a coveted Australian Federation and Advertising Graduate Scholarship.

After spending his first four years as a copywriter at Clemenger BBDO Sydney, Mr Connaghan travelled the world.

He joined John Singleton Advertising in 1993 to guide the Telcom Australia account through the country’s telecommunication deregulation.

In 2001, Mr Connaghan moved to STW, as Managing Director of Diversified Companies.

He represented STW’s interests and oversaw acquisitions, expansion and growth of the Diversified Companies.

Mr Connaghan joined STW Group company JWT in January 2004 as Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand, until his move back to STW and his appointment as Chief Executive Officer in January 2006.

Mr Connaghan is now the CEO of WPP AUNZ after the successful merger of WPP and STW in Australia and New Zealand. The combined business, listed on the ASX has a market capitalisation of more than $1billion, and employs more than 5000 people.

Michael is a Director of the Australian Association of National Advertisers and Chairman of the Board for the charity ‘R U OK? Day’.


Executive Director Retail Marketing Telstra
Jeremy joined Telstra as Executive Director, Marketing in June 2016 and leads marketing for all Telstra's brand, consumer and small-medium enterprise segments.

Prior to Telstra, Jeremy was Vice President, Head of Global Product Marketing at Visa based in San Francisco, Ca. where he led marketing for all Visa's products, emerging technologies and new products globally. Jeremy also led Visa’s global marketing, sponsorship and onsite technology implementation for the 2014 World Cup in Brasil.

Jeremy has also enjoyed a long career in creative agencies as a strategist and leader for creative companies in UK and Australia including 12 years as Executive Planning Director and then CEO at BMF, Australia.

Thérèse Kallie

Director, Communication and Marketing Excellence Nestlé Australia Ltd
Thérèse brings to the AANA board a Nestlé Global perspective which may be useful in helping to contribute to shaping Australia’s new Marketing and Communication rules of the game – which need to evolve to meet the new challenges brought about by the communication revolution and the consumers ability to circumvent brand messaging in an effort to avoid the clutter.

Thérèse also brings an ethos of innovation and creativity that is imperative to help shape the future of Marketing in an always on world.


Chief Marketing Officer McDonald's Australia
Jenni joined McDonald’s in May 2016 as Chief Marketing Officer and is responsible for leading Marketing and Menu for Australia.

Jenni’s fresh thinking, passion for marketing and drive for strong business and people results will play a vital role in the next stage of McDonald’s growth in Australia.

Most recently Jenni was Senior Marketing Director for PepsiCo Australia and New Zealand. She has 25 years of experience in marketing, innovation and sales management with a strong track record of business results and people development in various local, regional and global roles across Sydney, London, and New York.

Jenni has been a member of Executive Leadership Teams for over 10 years, with an innovative perspective and a general management approach to improving business performance.

Her passion is in new product development and breathing life into brands consumers have lost their love and connection with, having done this successfully from KFC to Pizza Hut to Tip Top to Smith’s Crisps and recently at SPC. She joins McDonald’s Australia at a time when connecting with the consumer will be critical to the brands future success.


Adobe Enterprise - Advertising Adobe
Sam joined Adobe as part of the TubeMogul acquisition having run the adtech business for 3 years as Managing Director. Prior to this, Smith worked for News Corp Australia’s NewsLifeMedia unit, as Head of Commercial Integration. Smith was also the Senior Vice President of Adconion Media Group Australia and held leadership roles at Ninemsn and Yahoo!7.


Chief Marketing Officer Toyota
Wayne is a marketing executive with 30 years of experience in the automotive sector specifically focusing on innovative marketing communications and brand growth that delivers tangible business outcomes.

Currently CMO at Toyota, Australia’s bestselling car brand.

His career started at Daihatsu Motor Co. before starting his journey with Toyota Motor Company Australia within the National Sales and Marketing team. He is now responsible for maintaining and growing Toyota Australia's leading brand position in Australia as the business transitions into its next exciting phase.

Wayne’s passion is about leadership, not marketing.

He strives to enable those around him to achieve their full potential with the shared goal of taking one of Australia’s most trusted brands from strength to strength through their mission - Inspiring human progress through mobility.
