2016 AANA AGM CHRISTMAS DRINKS

 

The 2016 AANA AGM was held on Thursday 24 November, followed by drinks and a presentation from guest speaker Bob Miller AM.

Our thanks to Lion and Matt Tapper for hosting us again this year.

Bob Miller AM has been three times president of the AANA and during his leadership AANA completely overhauled the media remuneration structure, with the intent to better align rewards with results and increase effectiveness of the advertising dollar.  That decision was taken by the Australian Competition Tribunal  in 1996, which confirmed that the Accreditation system would cease to exist. The AANA then established the self-regulatory system which exists today.

Mr Miller joined us on this 20 year anniversary to discuss what’s changed since that significant decision and review the landscape of Australian marketing and the profession.

Following the AGM it was announced that Matt Tapper was re-elected Chair of the AANA Board for a second term. Also, to further strengthened the Board, two additional appointments were made – Mr Jeremy Nicholas, Executive Director – Retail Marketing, Telstra, and Ms Jenni Dill Chief Marketing Officer, McDonalds Australia.
