After eight years in sales and marketing roles with Schering-Plough, Bruce discovered Mars in 1992 and embraced what ultimately became his “professional home” for the next 23 years.

In his time at Mars, Bruce progressed within the marketing function from a brand manager in the Australian Petcare unit to other roles within Australia, NZ, Russia and Europe. In 2006, he was appointed as Chief Marketing Officer.

As CMO, Bruce has placed a heavy emphasis on blending scientific rigor with creative excellence. This has created a powerful growth model within Mars. The application of this model has sharpened Mars’ global brand strategies. It is fuelling a rapid transfer of broad business solutions that has driven growth in operating units across the globe.

Growth can only be sustained by developing, retaining and connecting great talent. Bruce leads the Marketing College within Mars University. In this capacity, he has overseen the execution of a curriculum that draws from leading academic experts in the related disciplines of neuroscience, behavioral economics, psychology and marketing science. This is pushing the frontiers of traditional marketing and creating a learning environment in which all Mars marketers are able to challenge and develop themselves.
