L’Oreal CMO Asmita Dubey, announced as WFA Marketer of the Year

The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) earlier this month announced the Global Marketer of the Year 2023. Congratulations to Asmita Dubey, L’Oreal’s CMO!

Asmita was among 40 candidates in the competition which was then shortlisted to the top five marketers. She was selected as the winner using a combination of a public vote and an expert jury vote.

AANA is a member of the WFA and CEO, Josh Faulks, sat on the international expert jury panel that judged each of the candidates for the award.

Faulks said, “Each of the finalists are incredible marketers and it was a tough call to choose between them. Asmita’s win is a testament to how she, and L’Oreal, have continued to innovate and redefine the beauty category. Her work and the results she produces really do speak for themselves. This is one of our industry’s most prestigious awards, so congratulations to Asmita!

It was an honour to sit on the judging panel and to have the opportunity to delve into the ingenious campaigns being executed by these world-renowned brands.”

What each of these marketers has achieved is incredible and it is well worth a watch of their submission video – especially if you want to be in the running next year. The other shortlisted marketers were Aude Gandon at Nestlé, Lisa McKnight at Mattel, Marcel Marcondes at AB InBev and Morgan Flatley at McDonald’s so we really are talking about some of the very best marketers in the global marketing industry right now.

The WFA said, “L’Oréal has a strong track record of using the power of technology to enhance its marketing efforts and now claims a 30% share of influence, earned by partnering with more than 50,000 influencers across channels such as TikTok and gaming.

Asmita has introduced new A/R beauty services and virtual try-ons for hair and make-up as well as skin diagnosis through AI, with the latter attracting more than 100 million users in the past year.”
